Little Silver school district parents panel held on S1701 on Tuesday, October 11, 7:30 p.m. at the Markham School. On the panel: GSCS Parent Network Representative Kim Newsome,  Executive Director Lynne Strickland, GSCS President-Elect Marjorie Heller & Little Silver Superintendent, Red Bank Regional Superintendent, Ed Westervelt. District 12 representatives and those running for those seats in the Assembly were also invited; Senator Ellen Karcher also had a scheduling conflict and will be meeting with the Little Silver PTA in November; Assemblymen Morgan and Panter also had a scheduling conflict & were represented by their local district office chief of staff Kerrie Danskin; 12 th district Assembly contender Declan O’Scanlon was available & sat on the panel.

GSCS Board of Trustees: Next Board Meeting October 19, 4 p.m. East Brunswick.

 

Representatives of the Corzine and Forrester campaigns have been invited to present on the candidates’ platform for education & property taxes.

GSCS continues to work hard on school construction funding issues...our questions have resulted in uncovering some additional monies in  unused grant agreement funds [where districts did not get a local share commitment] : The SCC is 'unraveling' the amount ... stay tuned....

 

GSCS PARENTS question Forrester and Corzine on 101.5 Debate program

GSCS parent ‘Sarah from Fair Haven’ posed a question on fair funding and S1701which is in Part 2 at the 4 minute mark on the media player of the debate program.

 

GSCS participated in the Reock Ad Hoc School Finance Discussion Group press briefing that focused on updating school funding, state aid data and school construction facts.
