GSCS Annual Meeting Press Release "...Approximately 125 Parents, Board of Education members and school administrators will gather tomorrow at the GSCS 17th Annual Meeting at the Forsgate. GSCS is a statewide a grassroots, education advocacy group that focuses on school finance issues (www.gscschools.org). GSCS has played a consistent role in the major school funding issues, from CEIFA and the School Construction Act 2000, to extraordinary aid for special education as well as the School Funding Reform Act 2008. In this year’s setting of the changes a new formula brings, to an ambience in Trenton concerned with administrative costs and school consolidation, to the concern that home rule ‘rules’ are migrating from local decision-makers control, GSCS respectfully welcomes the dialogue that our state leadership is willing to have with us up close and personal. The program includes presentations from Commissioner of Education Lucille Davy and Assembly Education Committee Chair & Democratic State Committee Chairman, Joe Cryan. Their talks will be followed by a combined Q & A. Governor Corzine (11 a.m.) will then address the GSCS members and will accept questions as well. All three of the officials have confirmed that they will be there. For details
