GSCS ORGANIZATION - INFORMATION

The Garden State Coalition of Schools is an association of school districts, and as an association GSCS is a stand alone entity. GSCS is grassroots in nature, that advocates for quality public education and services its public by maintaining high-level information services (www.gscschools.org is one example; GSCS 'emailnets' another).

GSCS is staffed by one full time executive director, additional expenditures are related to bookeeping and shared office space in Trenton, as well as on-going standard expenses such as telephone. GSCS does not have an expense account for gifts, or travel. GSCS is suported soley by member dues.

Through districts' membership, GSCS' mission is underscored by grassroots volunteers that come from the ranks of parents, school board members and school administrators. GSCS professional audit in 2007 reported no irregularites and that funds were being spent to accomplish GSCS' stated goals and objectives.
