6-20-13 (Late morning), Trenton Budget Update: Fiscal Year 2013-2014
The State Budget bill, S3000, just passed out of the Senate Budget Committee, chaired by Senator Sarlo (Wood-Ridge)...Funding for the SDA Adjustment fees will be $7.4M (not the $13M reported in the media yesterday)- this increase, as stated by the Chair, ensures that no district will receive less school aid than received per last year's state school aid. Per the committee statements, $2M proposed for the Opportunity Scholarship aid and the $5M proposed for the Education Innovation Fund were removed from this final budget plan (S3000). Stay tuned for any further information, such budget language changes, that may still be forthcoming.
