Star Ledger-- N.J. teens lead rally against gun violence, say 'Congress is doing nothing'

A group of students led a rally against gun violence Monday on the steps of the Ocean County Library in Toms River.

The rally was led by students from the Toms River School District and was attended by parents, Congressional candidates and concerned citizens alike.

Zach Dougherty, a 16-year-old junior, said he decided to hold the rally after speaking with David Hogg, a survivor of a school shooting last week in Parkland, Florida.

The shooting claimed the lives of 17 people, including 15 students. The names of those victims were read aloud at the start of the Toms River rally.
