MORE THAN 100 ENERGIZED PARENTS SHOWED UP WEDNESDAY IN TRENTON at the ‘Parents in Trenton’ Press Conference. FOUR PARENTS FROM RUMSON, MOUNT LAUREL, RIDGEWOOD AND SCOTCH PLAINS-FANWOOD SPOKE TO STAND-OUT ISSUES THAT CONCERN THEM AND ASKED TRENTON TO RESPOND NOW TO THESE ISSUES, e.g. 

ü       ADDRESSING S1701 ISSUES SUCH AS RESTRICTIVE SURPLUS AND ABILITYTO USE LOCAL FUNDS TO SUPPORT LOCAL NEEDS, CLASS SIZE INFLEXIBLITY BEING CITED SPECIFICALLY

ü       NOTING THE NEGATIVE IMPACT ON SCHOOL DISTRICTS, THUS PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN, THAT UPREDICTABLE COST DRIVERS BEYOND LOCAL DISTRICT CONTROL INCUR. SOARING GAS PRICES BEING AN EXAMPLE WERE NOTED AS CLEAR EVIDENCE OF THIS.

ü       CALLING FOR A STABLE SCHOOL FUNDING SYSTEM & FORMULA FOR ALL CHILDREN
