Coalition Of Families For Excellent Education

About US                               ______________________________________________________________

The Coalition Of Families For Excellent Education, C.O.F.F.E.E. is a non-profit organization seeking to ensure that quality public education is appropriately funded for all children in New Jersey.

The organization’s work is issue-driven and efforts are focused on families and community leaders in school districts that have been directly harmed by state funding policies.  Currently, the organization is working to repeal S-1701, the school budget cap law deteriorating public schools statewide.

A key component of C.O.F.F.E.E.’s mission is to educate and network parents, grandparents and community leaders about the inadequacies of public school funding and to mobilize them to use their collective voice to impact political leaders in Trenton.  The non-partisan group also collaborates with organizations sharing the same goals, including the Garden State Coalition of Schools.

C.O.F.F.E.E. reaches out to its audiences through grass roots events like forums, and letter-writing campaigns and targeted marketing, advertising and public relations campaigns.  To achieve its goals, the group hosts fundraisers that in addition to raising money also raise awareness.

Led by Executive Director Kimberly Newsome, recent initiatives include: a Trenton press conference, educational forums, turnkey fundraisers and letter-writing campaigns.
