Revised Code re Education Chief Salary Caps to be filed at the end of first week in August
FYI to GSCS on the code to support the Governor's new policy initiative regarding superintendent salaries: 'The regulations on the salary caps will be published in the August register, so they must be done by next Friday, August 6. There will be 3 hearings that will be held in the regions of the State to discuss them. These hearings will likel be in October. Then, subsequent to these hearings, the regulations could be edited and changed. The Department of Education reports that the unique part of these regulations is that they do not have to go through the State Board as the CORE statute (Spring 2007) specifically says regulation around CORE is under the Commissioner’s aegis, not the State Board’s...There is nothing else available on this topic yet besides the original press release from the Governor’s office.'
