Kenneth F. Hall started School Services of California, Inc., (SSC), in 1975 in a one-room Sacramento office and led the company through its first 25 years as President and the next five years as its Chairman of the Board. Today, SSC serves virtually all 1,050 California school districts and county offices and numerous education associations in its areas of specialty: public education management, finance and governance, State Capitol legislative assistance, collective bargaining and fact finding assistance, and school executive training… Ken served in major state positions in both the legislative and executive branches throughout the 1960s and early 1970s. In his last state responsibility, he served as Chief Deputy Director of the Department of Finance (1971-1974) for the state of California, where he shared responsibility for state expenditures, revenues, and general state fiscal policy.

We are writing to invite you and interested board of education members and parents in your district to a symposium on school funding that the Garden State Coalition of Schools is co-sponsoring with the New Jersey School Development Council on December 7 at the Douglass Center, Douglass College, Rutgers University. The goal of the forum is to create a venue to stimulate a practical conversation around school funding issues in the State of New Jersey. In turn, a critical outcome of the forum will be to provide ideas that would strongly encourage policymakers to address the need for a stable, workable system of funding our public schools.
