BIOGRAPHY OF RICHARD F. KEEVEY

 

Mr. Keevey has held senior positions in the federal and state governments; in the private sector; for a congressionally chartered non-profit organization and in academia. Presently he is the “Distinguished Practitioner in Residence” at the School of Public Affairs & Administration at Rutgers University & a Visiting Lecturer at Princeton University.

 

Rich’s government experience includes:

  • Appointment by the President of the United States and confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  
  • Appointment by the President as the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Financial Management.& Director of the Defense Finance & Accounting Agency
  • Appointment by two NJ Governors (both parties) as OMB Director.

 

In the private sector, and non-profit arena Rich’s work experience includes the following:

  • Arthur Andersen Consulting, LLP -- as a Practice Director.
  • Unisys Corporation as Director for Core Administration Programs.
  • National Academy of Public Administration as the Director of Performance
  • Princeton University as Director of the Policy Research Institute for the Region     

 

Rich is the author of 18 published articles on finance and management issues.

 

Rich served on his Local School Board for 9 years – eight years as the Board President.

 

Rich served as an artillery Officer in the Army in Germany.

 

Rich presently serves on the Governor Christie’s Council of Economic Advisors.

 

Rich is currently a Board Member for two non-profit organizations -- the Mercer Alliance to End Homelessness and the Center for Health Care Strategies. Rich is also a member of the State Budget Crisis Task Force.

 

Rich is a current member of the Planning Board of his community.

 

Rich’s awards & recognitions include the following:

 

  • FELLOW of the National Academy of Public Administration
  • Recipient of “Life Time Achievement Award” for Budgeting & Finance from the National Association of Budgeting & Financial Management
  • DOD Medal for Outstanding Service (2 times) from the Secretary of Defense

 

Rich has a BA degree from La Salle College and a Master degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania
