The Jersey Journal--Weehawken superintendent takes job in Morris County district
Robert R. Zywicki, superintendent of the Weehawken school district, is moving on.
According to a press release from the Mount Olive Board of Education, Zywicki will become the town's superintendent in October after a three-year stint running Weehawken's public schools.

The tech industry's use of persuasive psychological techniques to keep kids glued to their screens is under fire from a group of advocates who want the American Psychological Association to condemn the practice. The group will promote their cause at the APA's annual meeting Aug. 9-12 in San Francisco.

Education Week--Few High School Students Are Interested in Teaching. But Better Pay Could Help
High school students who are thinking about becoming teachers would be more interested in the profession if it paid more, according to a new survey from ACT, the college-admissions testing organization.
The survey, which about 2,400 students took during a national ACT administration in the 2017-2018 school year, looks at which students want to be teachers, what's drawing high schoolers to the profession, and what about the job would need to change for more students to express interest.
